Attendant:

Ensure that parking tickets are accurately calculated and the fee correctly collected by the customer. Effectively communicating with customers in a friendly and inviting manner, answering questions about the operations, giving directions when asked, and ensuring a proper flow of traffic through the exit booth. Cashier is responsible for accurately accounting for every ticket processed and exiting vehicles through the appropriate lane. Cashier must accurately complete the daily cashier shift report. The cashier is the face of our customer service efforts and is required to help customers with their concerns. Cashier duties may include the assignment of light maintenance/cleaning duties.


Maintenance:

Republic Parking System is currently accepting applications for the position of Maintenance/Custodian.

The successful candidate must possess strength and stamina to perform work in outdoor environment. Must safely perform duties that include repetitive use of hands, grasping-using and holding tools, standing, bending, reaching, crouching, grasping, twisting, and must have good hand eye coordination. Works in public view and must be capable of using appropriate verbal communication. Ability to learn and apply basic knowledge of MBTA parking garages. Duties include but not limited to:


  • Collection and removal of trash
  • Work with various cleaning solvents for cleaning windows, ledges, stairwells, lobby areas, elevators, dirty equipment, painting, removal of graffiti and other applications
  • Assist with snow removal including, snow blowing, snow plowing, snow and ice shoveling, and laying ice melt as required
  • Lawn mowing & trimming
  • Blowing and collection of leaves
  • General cleaning of offices
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of common areas
  • Changing of light bulbs in garages
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Clean driving record meeting company policy
  • Environmental conditions include working in weather of all types. Capable of working in extreme cold, heat and high wind conditions for extended periods
  • Must be able to work independently and in team setting
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and understand parking garage gates and ticket equipment
  • Assist with other tasks as directed by management
  • Apply safe operating practices and use of personal protective equipment

Enforcement:

  • Patrol an assigned area by vehicle or on foot to ensure public compliance with existing parking ordinance and Company requirements.
  • Write warnings and citations for illegally parked vehicles.
  • Provide for public safety by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, enforcing motor vehicle laws and company policies and procedures, and promoting good community relations.
  • Record facts to prepare reports that document incidents and activities.
  • Monitor, note, report, and investigate suspicious persons and situations, safety hazards, and unusual or illegal activity in patrol area.
  • Monitor parked vehicles and ensure that parking time limits are not exceeded.
  • Respond to and make radio dispatch calls regarding parking violations and complaints.
  • Identify vehicles in violation of parking codes, checking with dispatchers or manager when necessary to confirm identities or to determine whether vehicles need to be towed.
  • Observe and report hazardous conditions such as missing traffic signals or signs, and street markings that need to be repainted.
  • Investigate and answer customer service complaints and routing them appropriately.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must submit to and pass a drug screen and criminal background check
  • Possess excellent customer service skills. Prefer at least six months previous customer service and cash handling experience
  • Possess outgoing and enthusiastic personality
  • Demonstrate exceptional oral communication skills by conveying information effectively
  • Possess knowledge of local area and surrounding attractions
  • Demonstrate active listening, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
